Among the many applications already known about geotechnology in engineering and the environment, one of the most important is to be able to use these tools to spatialize and know the potential of energy resources in a given region. This research consists of a diagnosis of the capacity to produce energy from so-called "clean" sources, through the use of high resolution satellite images, field incursions and the resources and procedures associated with geotechnologies. Despite the potential of Geotechnology tools in determining sites for energy production, many challenges must be overcome in order to make feasible the application of these techniques, such as the acquisition of high-resolution satellite images with improved terrain model of the area study, reliable data collected in the field, such as solarimetric and wind speed indexes, as well as the socioeconomic characterization of the site. In this way, this work aims to survey the potential of alternative energies available within a 10 km radius of the ENEL-CE electricity substation, located in the municipality of Morada Nova - Ceará, determining the capacity to generate energy from wind power plants, solar-photovoltaic, Small Hydroelectric Power Plants and Biomass by incineration of urban solid waste. The renewable energy sources that presented the greatest production potential were Wind Energy with annual production of 78.46 GWh and Solar-photovoltaic Source, with annual production of 30.80 GWh, these two forms representing of generation 99.99% among the Sources of energy. It studied was verified that the study using geotechnologies for determination and spatialization of energy generation is very promising, but it is still necessary to improve the quality of the data acquired in the field and to optimize them, aiming to improve the representativeness values of the maps and generated graphs.
