Researcher 1B of CNPq. He holds a degree in Thermoelectric Power Plants from the Polytechnic University of Odessa (1981), Ukraine, a masters degree in Thermoelectric Power Plants - Polytechnic University of Odessa (1981) and a PhD in Steam Generators and Reactors Project at the Polytechnic University of St. Petersburg (1988), Russia. In 2014 he completed a Visiting Professor internship at Washington State University with a Fulbright scholarship / CAPES Visiting Scholar. He is currently Full Professor at the Federal University of Itajubá and Coordinator of the Nucleus of Excellence in Thermoelectric and Distributed Generation - NEST. He has experience in Mechanical Engineering, with emphasis on Thermoelectric Generation, working mainly in the following subjects: biomass, cogeneration, bagasse, solar thermal energy, thermoelectric power plants, thermoelectric generation and life cycle analysis - ACV. He published 86 articles in journals, 15 books and oriented 18 doctoral theses and 49 masters theses.
